A letter to the

mother reading

Maybe you're pregnant and already wondering how your baby can be growing so quickly. Perhaps your newborn has turned your world upside down in the most beautiful and exhausting way. Or you're busy chasing toddlers, washing tiny clothes and wondering where the days are disappearing to.

You want photographs of this season but perhaps you're waiting. Until you feel more like yourself, until you've lost the baby weight, until life feels less chaotic. Mama, I get it. I've been there too. As a mother of two boys, I know how easy it is to put yourself at the bottom of the list. But your children won't remember whether your hair was freshly washed and they won't care what dress size you were. One day they'll look for photographs that show you were there - holding them, loving them, being their safe place.

And those photographs will mean everything.

Photos that make my heart sing

FAQ
When is the best time to book my maternity session?

Maternity photos are most magical between 28-34 weeks when your bump is beautifully round and you’re still feeling comfortable. This window allows us to capture your glow and the anticipation of welcoming your little one.

When should newborn photos be taken?

Many families book their newborn session within the first 5-14 days when baby is still all curled up, sleeps more peacefully and baby acne is yet to appear, but there really isn't a deadline. My sessions are relaxed and baby-led, which means we can create beautiful images any time. The most important thing is choosing a time that feels right for you and your family.

What should we wear?

Don't worry, you don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe. Once you're booked, I'll send over my style guide and help you choose outfits that feel comfortable, flattering and true to your family. I also have a collection of dresses and baby outfits available to borrow. The goal isn't to look perfectly coordinated. It's to create photographs that feel natural, timeless and like you.

How far in advance should I reserve a session?

I encourage booking 2-3 months ahead to secure your spot, especially for newborn sessions. Once your baby arrives, we adjust as needed - because we know little ones follow their own timelines.

What if I don't feel confident in front of the camera?

You are not alone. Many of the mums I photograph tell me they're nervous because they don't feel like themselves, especially during pregnancy or the postpartum months.

My job isn't to make you perform for the camera. It's to help you relax, feel comfortable and focus on your family. I'll gently guide you throughout and photograph you in a natural, flattering way. Your children won't see the things you're worried about. They'll see their mum. And that's who they'll treasure seeing in these photographs one day.

What if my children don't cooperate?

Honestly? Most parents worry about this. The good news is that children don't need to sit still or smile perfectly for beautiful photographs. My sessions are designed around play, movement and connection rather than performance. We'll chat, explore, cuddle, run around and have fun together. Some of my favourite images happen in the in-between moments when children are simply being themselves.

As a mum of two boys, I promise there's very little that surprises me ;)
